Iran helmer to artistically direct Italy fest

Iran playwright/ helmer Arash Abbasi has been picked as the artistic director of Orizzonti dell'Iran (Horizons of Iran) short film festival in Italy.

Born in 1977, Arash Abbasi has made a name for himself as an award-winning Iranian writer.

He has won several awards for his play scripts such as 'Lobby' which won award at 29th Fajr International Theater Festival.

Abbasi has so far written over 20 theater plays as well as having a film script for Mohammad-Reza Rahmani's 'Sometimes' on his resume.

He studied didactics of drama and theater at Bologna University in Italy.

The Horizons of Iran short film festival is slated for August 8-9, 2018 in the Italian capital city of Rome.
